Nvidia announced the release of a new graphis card line last month. The RTX 3000 series was revealed and the first card to be released was the RTX 3080. The only downside to all this is the fact that the 3080 went out of stock in just a few short minutes.
Consumers saw the opportunity to resell these cards for a large profit. The 3080 retailed for $699.00 and is reselling for $2000! A handfull of users used a bot to buy anywhere from 18 to 48 of these graphics cards solely just to make a profit. This meant that most actual consumers didn't even get a chance to get their hands on a 3080.
Nvidia made a statement that they were going to manually check every order of the 3080 and make sure no one using a bot to buy bulk would get them all. This also caused them to delay the lauch of the rest of the 3000 series cards. Now, thousands of people are desperatly waiting for the new releases and to possibly get a 3080 all because selfish people wanted to rip everyone else off.
Nvidia will try their best to prevent inventory from being bought out by bots, but that isn't going to stop them all. Don't be surprised if they all are gone in a couple of minutes when the cards get restocked.
